The Moving and Handling course can be completed by anyone who wishes to enrol, whether it be relevant to your job or you simply want to gain knowledge in this area. This fully informative course uses aids such as PowerPoint presentations and physical moving and handling activities to help candidates learn and gain knowledge and confidence in using their skills. The course is also relevant for anybody who is working towards an NVQ in Care. The topics covered in the course are: causes of injury; ergonomics; biomechanics; warm-up exercises; strain and load management; the law; risk assessments. The full-day course covers the moving and handling of both people and inanimate loads. The half-day (refresher) course focusses only on the moving and handling of either people or inanimate loads (ring VOISE on 01772 679888 for more information). The Moving and Handling course is VOISE accredited and upon completion of the course the candidate will receive a certificate. Cost The commercial price for the full-day course is £75. If you are a member you receive a heavily discounted price of £45. For any candidates who are currently doing an NVQ at VOISE this course will be fully funded!
