| Skills for Care Induction to Care |
Working in care is both challenging and demanding. As in any new role your members of staff may feel uncertain at first about what to do and what their employer expects of them. The 'Skills for Care Induction to Care' course can help to build confidence and ensure that all staff have sufficient knowledge and skills to succeed. The Skills for Care Induction Standards set out some of the first things a new care worker should know in their job. The things which are set out are those which are common to all roles in social care, whoever is being cared for and whatever their needs may be.
There are six standards in total, which contain a number of areas of knowledge that new workers need to know about before they can work safely without close supervision. The six standards are: understand the principles of care; understand the organisation and role of the worker; maintain safety at work; communicate effectively; recognise and respond to abuse and neglect; develop as a worker.
