| Skills for Life Awareness for Managers |
|
Do you have staff who avoid paperwork? Do they use the age-old excuse, "I've forgotten my glasses?" or "I'm too old to use a computer!"? Well they may have a Skills for Life need, which means they may have difficulties with literacy, numeracy, language or ICT. This may have been as a result of missing school, having poor teaching or a disability. This one day course will equip you with the knowledge to sensitively identify such needs either at interview or at work, access assessment for your staff and signpost them to appropriate provision. You will also gain City and Guilds accreditation. The day will be split into the following areas: the skills for life strategy locally and nationally; assessment; interpreting assessments and signposting; revision; timed assignment. In the final part of the day you will be encouraged to take the City and Guilds timed assignment to receive accreditation for your work. This will be Unit 001 of the Level 2 Certificate in Learning Support. The course will be delivered by a Skills for Life specialist with extensive experience with all types of Skills for Life Learners. Cost The price of this course is just £45 to cover the cost of City and Guilds registration. How to Book a Place on This Course You can book a place by calling the VOISE office on 01772 679888.
