|
The Level 4 qualification is designed for supervisory or management roles. It covers managerial duties in addition to the assessment planning and review of individuals' care needs. At this level you will have management or supervisory responsibility for other staff or a high level of autonomy in developing individual responses to the assessed needs of service users. You will need to complete eight units. Four of these are core: use and develop methods and systems to communicate, record and report; contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practices in the working environment; take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others; develop practices which promote choice, well being and the protection of all individuals. Then you choose four further units (from a choice of 46 units). These are split into three groups: 'adults', 'children and young people' and 'general option'. The wide range of options includes units that are from the Registered Managers (Adults) and Managers in Residential Child Care qualifications. In addition to further management skills they also include units specific to disclosure of abuse, mental health and drug and alcohol misuse. Entry Requirements You don't need formal qualifications to do the NVQ/SVQ, but you must currently be working with service users or carers. Does this Qualification Form Part of a Recognised Framework? This award is part of the National Qualifications Framework and is also recognised by important industry bodies. This means that it will be recognised by most UK employers.
