The Level 2 qualification is suitable for housing assistants, caretakers, concierges, personal carers in supported housing, hostel workers, call and control centre operators, tenants and residents. It can include those involved in lettings and allocations, housing management, homelessness and advice, supported housing, repairs and maintenance and tenant participation and management.
You will be assessed in seven areas. Four of these are core: maintain open and honest relationships with customers; provide information to customers; maintain effective working relationships; monitor and maintain health, safety and security.
Then there are a wide range of other areas from which you select three, for example: process documents relating to housing services; match the needs of customers with available accomodation; allocate accommodation to customers; set up agreements with customers; respond to customer enquiries and concerns; help to develop customer involvement in the local community; check and record the condition of property.
Entry Requirements
You don't need formal qualifications to do this NVQ, but you must currently be working in a housing services setting.
Does this Qualification Form Part of a Recognised Framework?
This award is based at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework in England, Northern Ireland and Wales which means it has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and is recognised by employers. It is also linked to, and complements, awards from the CIH.
